In the excitement of new racing tracks, upcoming triple crown sets, reorganization of racing at GHF, and new formats of workouts, the underdogs are often misplaced or lose attention. Well we are here to let you know that you should be watching these underdogs. If not in your judging capacity, but as rivals. We are putting forth the long term work needed to stay in the game on the tracks, and despite our downfalls we still keep coming back and trying again. You might see us down in the dirt, muddy and last place. But we just dunk ourselves in the river and come back out for more. The true spirit of the underdog is to never give up-and that is the essence of our proud and determined set of our amazing spirits.
AKUMABUELLE
Mostly overlooked last fall, she only had one win with NDM at that time. This season she has entered into grade two and rapidly been heading towards grade one, without a single placement out of the top two as of this posting. She is shining, as a fully mature five year old she has a lot of experience going for her.
LOOKIN' BACK LUCKY
Lucky has not won a race since July of season 14. In total he has participated in all but not limited to: Palm Beach Stakes, Proven Strong Stakes, World Colt Cup, Breeder's Cup Turf, and the Preakness Champion Stakes. If those don't count as some world class competitive racing, NDM doesn't know what does! This colt is filling himself out, and as a newly turned four year old we are inching ourselves closer to that winning spot. Once he breaks his rut-we truly believe he will blossom.
CROOKED INTENTIONS
Probably our most bratty in the bunch, Tia just pulled off a win in the Ontario Lassie Stakes the week after breaking her maiden! She has a wicked closing streak, her incredible stubbornness gives her such a high competitive drive she often leaves many shaking their heads in confusion over where the heck she came from as she zooms by in a race. By Blanchett and Crooked Fire, you might recognize some of her relations on the track now.
IMPRESS THE MOONLIGHT
Lily has the drive, class, and determination to go to the top. She is absolutely the largest threat that NDM has to offer. With four awards given to her already, she has impeccable breeding out of Moondance by Impressario. She is being headed to walk in her sire's path, gearing towards the Turf Triple Tiara this summer. As a three year old, is only two wins away from grade two and has won over two million dollars so far in her career. She has participated in so many HOTY races it's hard to name just a few: Executioner's Apprentice Handicap, Champagne Stakes, Black Caviar Stakes, Breeder's Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, Palm Beach Stakes, and more! She is at the top of her game, and is steam rolling through her races in true stalker form.
So there, too! ^_^
*A little bit of Gallant Knight's sense of humor to you all!*
