Solar brigade is what today seemed like it a group outside with the hot sun shining down on everyone. Carlos Sanchez had his fill for water of the morning approaching the stalls alongside Sable Evans. Carlos was riding the Jazzman filly Jazzasoleil out of the outstanding broodmare Sun Chaser, through Sun Chaser Jazza was related to the Canadian Triple Crown winner Anodyne. The bay filly trotted in circles within her stall nickering and making noise as she could sense the approach of her jockey. She was also the half sister to G3 Jazzaway and G3 Livin' The Jazz, a turf runner. The filly was growing up quite nicely and poked her head out from the stall to see Carlos with the saddle in hand.
Jazzasoleil was prepped and ready Carlos had needed her to be focused. She was entered in the Debutante Stakes, the first leg of the Turf Triple Tiara and she would be up against a heavy field, her targets were Nocturnal Runaway, the Night Stalker filly was one to look out for among them all. Stride of Perfections Trinity seemed to be doing rather well for the most part, the filly by The Immortal certainly had class. Then their was the filly running for North Diamond Manor, Impress the Moonlight the filly by the legend HoF Impressario out of Moondance she would have an eyes eye. Impressario foals had been the light of the track like Italian Ice and Ventura. Jazzasoleil would be a perfect match up between Lily and Noc in fact Jazza liked to prove she could be better than the boys.
Regardless Jazza would not be on this workout field alone Sable had prepared Eavesdropper for his Turf Triple Crown debut in the Kentucky Open. The black roan colt had his share of races on both dirt and turf but more so on the turf with his win of the Unicorn Horn Juvenile Turf* last year and his placing in the Unicorn Horn Turf this year. He was also in a dangerous field for the title he would come to face Take Flight one of the proud favorites this season along with Spotlight Pride and Pandora. Devil's Flair had a mean kick that was for sure. Rave would be prepared this season with only coming out of the money four times in total his record was somewhat to be looked over twice.
The two jockeys were well aware of the horses they were riding and so were their trainers Mason and Carrie. Carrie held her watch at the ready when looking at Carlos "Alright Carlos I want Jazzasoleil up to form on this workout okay the Turf Triple Tiara only comes once for these three year old's. Judges will be eyeing her I mean come on Anodyne won the Canadian Triple Crown last year let's prove to everyone that her name gets pushed to the top." Carrie was certain Jazzasoleil would use all of her efforts to get the job done. Eavesdropper was in his own little world but he was a fast router who loved to tease others.
Both took their own efforts Jazza would hold pack within the mid-pack to see who dared sought out the lead she waited for an opportunity before throwing herself into the lead after the others. She rose her tail at the long stretch of the track and with Eavesdropper pulling in from behind she focused on the route in front of her. Rave preferred the back of the pack to hold his energy before letting out the burst of speed he held from within. The daughter of Sun Chaser was not going down without a fight in her hands and she gained more strides within the backstretch finish not allowing the black roan colt to pass her.
Sable moved with Eavesdropper as Carlos did with Jazza and the two were on the brink of destruction. Jazzasoleil soon took off with a new gear along the homestretch where she found a new sensation to win. The two became neck and neck when they passed the wire with Jazzasoleil with the workout win by a nose regardless. The bay filly lifted up into action and bit at Rave to back off with the pat on her neck by Carlos. "She was a little fast near the first turn however, the rest of the way she hung back like I asked. I think she is ready." Carlos spoke before Sable took off his helmet and fixed himself on Rave's back. "Says you, Rave pulled off a wonderful time back there before Jazza cut him off." Sable arguing the fact. The Crown was just days away and these horses seemed to know when it was coming and they were ready.
