Name: Simba
Nickname: -
Breed: Thoroughbred
Age: 4 Years - Y12
Gender: Stallion
Height: 15.0
Color: Palomino - No Markings
Personality: Simba was an accidental birth on a retired Thoroughbred ranch. Since he had no other foals near him, he was left in the wilds of the persevere lands with his herd until he was spotted at about a year and a half old by a trainer who happened to be brining some retired racers to the ranch to stay. He proved more than a handful, and although Simba is not a vicious horse, he is extremely wild. Insanely quick and fast minded, he was way too much to handle and ended up sold several times. We are unsure if he had any racetrack experience, but his ground handling was extremely troubling and he became the one horse no jockey would dare ride. He was named Simba for his lion like attitude, this Palomino stallion is full of roar with a huge personality. Wherever he is he claims the territory, without question. It is completely impossible to keep him with any other creatures except extremely docile, older geldings. He is alert one hundred percent of the time, any small change or noise will set him to flight. He did have some difficulties with fighting with other stallions in the past, and though not technically dangerous he is known to rear, buck, and bite after to anyone trying to restrain him too much. Naturally Isabelle fell in love with the gorgeous, well conformed boy, much to NDM staff's eye rolling. A special jockey, Evander Thorne, was hired just to be Simba's jockey. His incredible horse whispering and natural methods seem to be working well, as Simba has been able to begin formal racing training-and his speed has been phenomenal.
Racing Style: Most keep far, far away from Simba in the saddling area. His one groom and his jockey are the only two that he allows near him, and all others are happy to give him a wide berth. He can get irritated by other stallions or pushy colts as he has a very dominant attitude. He doesn't pay much mind to the fillies however, unless they try to threaten him. He goes without a pony rider on the post parade, and doesn't much like the gate, although his jockey is working with him on the small space, as Simba doesn't like to feel restrained. Once the doors open, Simba tends to be a preceeder, breaking fast among the leaders. He likes to settle on the outside, disliking being closed in, and begins to stalk his 'prey' immediately. Especially those that challenged him on the stabling area, he will relentless dog at. If he feels there are no major 'threats' to him, he can become more a wild card, settling in the lead for a sluggish crowd or if the pace is fast he'll be a powerful closer. He gallops strongly, with a wild flair to him, and takes challengers very seriously.
