Personality: Off the track, Seattle is a gentle horse. He loves attention and if he sees someone when he’s out in the pasture, he’ll rush up to the gate, hoping that they’re there for him. He loves treats even more than people, and knows when someone has an apple. He’s pretty persistent in getting treats, and won’t give up until he gets it. That tendency has caused him to put on a bit of weight, though we’re trying to break him of the habit. His favorite person (though it’s so hard to choose because he loves people) is his rider, Brad. He’ll try harder for him than anyone else, especially since he knows he’ll get a treat afterwards.
On the track though, he turns into an aggressive horse. He knows his job is to win, and wants very badly to do so. He’ll do whatever it takes to win. He hates being held back, and has a habit of getting into a fight with his rider in order to get his head. Which takes his attention away from the race, allowing others to sneak up on him. If he’s blocked in, he’ll either try to push through what opening there is, or go around. He loves to be up front, where all he can see is the track in front of him. He doesn’t have a lot of stamina though, so if he’s caught up in a speed duel for a longer race, he’ll lose. Which is why he’s a sprinter. His favorite surface is turf, and he’s okay on dirt, though he doesn’t really like it.
