I really don't know what else to do and to be completely honest this is how I feel: People look at sprinters that I enter and they are autimatically doomed because there is a sprinter bias against my stable. I work these horses up, frick, I even lease them out and they do GREAT with other people and soon as they return to me they flunk. I'm annoyed as hell right now.

I don't know what else to do with this three.

He loses to horses in SIMPLE undercards that don't have near the class. BUT i could almost bet that if he was with someone else he wouldn't have this problem. (again how I'm feeling in this moment - i know i'm going to come back and read this later in a more calm state lol) I just got him to win in an undercard in a month drought. I don't know what else to do for him.

AGAIN this is my vent. This is how I feel. But I need feedback I seriously don't know what else to do and isn't fair to me or my horses if there is this 'stable bias" affecting my horses. I'm like this close to getting rid of all my sprinters because then I won't have to deal with it. THE ONLY exception I have is Lilith Wind. I seriously don't know what to do.

I almost feel like, if your horse doesn't start out at the top as a juvenile sprinter, there's like NO HOPE to ever catch up. It's a struggle.

First of all, i think your horses are doing a lot better than you give them credit for. Fusillade has won twice in the last month and otherwise has a near perfect top-two record. Sophie's Pride has five wins on the season - that's more than enough to convince me she's doing well. Doubloon Moon, I can't explain because i'm having the same problem.

It's not true at all that if you don't start out on top it's impossible to catch up. If anything, being good and prepared has hurt my horses a lot as three year olds this season. Take my filly Melodious. Seven HoTY wins as a juvenile including the Unicorn Horn, Magic Millions and Azalea Cup - she should have been the top filly and won the Breeders Cup, if we're talking expected fairness, but she didn't, and now she barely hacks it in any race she enters in. Melusine I ran only in HoTYs as a juvenile so that she'd be kick butt and battle hardened as a three year old. She's also barely hacking it. Ares looked really good as a juvenile too, and now hasn't won since February. And no matter what I do with these horses, they don't seem to be doing any better. Let's go with Trinity too - starred up competitor, now only wins undercards. Silent Snap won two legs of the Triple Sprinter Crown last year, and now only wins undercards as well and gets trounced in HoTYs. Is it because of a bias? I bet not. Just talking about it makes me want to sell or retire or lease out all of them all over again, because as you mentioned it'll probably make them do better XD

It's not a sprinting bias against your stable Cav - that's kind of ridiculous. In that case, I could claim an entirety bias against my barn at large, as all my horses are struggling and compared to the success I usually have my horses plain suck this year, and there's no clear reason for why mine are struggling and others are succeeding. There really isn't. If anything, I get told every time my horses lose a race that the pace wasn't in their favor, and that just doesn't seem fair, because it's never in their favor. Like, ever. I think we judge way WAY too much on pace and not enough on the class of the horse...but I digress. And I can use this digression as an example of the many factors that play into judging. Sometimes horses don't do as well as we feel they should...other times, some horses do so much more well and there appears no clear-cut explanation for it. *shrug*

Your barn is doing tremendously well compared to everybody's - you have among the best horses on the site right now Cavvy, with the majority having a slew of wins and, if not wins, second place finishes. Look at Lilith Wind, Lissome, Meritorious, Proteus Prince, Secret Success, Ultimate Revenge, Natural Selection, Night Visions, Ensignia, Risky Business, Silent Front, Wild Havoc - all winning machines with extremely competitive records. Take a moment and browse through other people's barns. You really have nothing to complain about compared to my barn at the least, and perhaps others. Is there a reason for success? Sometimes not. Is there a reason for no success? Sometimes not. Complaining only makes people feel pressured to place your horses better, even if you don't feel that way. I know that it's been a frustrating season all around for some people, but complaining and talking about a bias does nothing but incite people.

I think that that's all I have to say. This was rather a cathartic post XD I hope you feel the same about yours! And by no means do I mean to be aggressive or mad at you Cavvy. Just me expressing my opinion as well.

I honestly think it comes down to there being more horses and more members involved - you're never going to have the same race records and same success year in, year out. I'm having a fairly good year, but I know that changes. It's just how it goes Cav, and it's not against you. It's just that more people are getting chances.

I was feeling heated when I typed that. lol I knew it was ridic. Had to vent it out. I know I was being over the top, BUT I feel better now lol Thanks for the feedback. In general though, should I change anything with those listed horses?

S u N f r O s t ~ i have to agree with your comment though on judging too much on pace. I think that it is something that needs to be addressed.

THE LAST thing I want is to pressure lol I just needed the vent and if I was doing something wrong then I definitely wanted to fix it. You are both absolutely right in both regards and I appreciate you taking the time to respond and give feedback. TBH I think I'm just going to shut up about things from here on out. I'm in a REALLY emotional place right now with this move 1,200+ miles away from home and the LAST thing I want to do here is create a negative experience. xD

You'll get busy soon and it'll be fine XP I've looked at results sometimes and literally thought that I'd be more upset if I wasn't so emotionally exhausted from everything else. But I think they're fine - the way I look at it, I'm grateful for every win and a loss is what it is. I think that's helped me with this more competitive wave.
