Death of an Alchemist, or Al for short, is a competitive, canny mare who's more than willing to battle to win a race. In the paddock and under saddle she demands respect, but works willingly enough with her rider. Being too lenient with Al isn't a good idea, as she'll take advantage of this whenever she feels lazy, but being overly harsh with her is an even worse tactic. While Al isn't overly aggressive, neither is she immediately friendly. Al's friendship is quite a trying one to earn, but she is far more cooperative with individuals that she knows well as opposed to strangers. She gets spooked about as often as any two-year-old, but is quick to lose that fear for curiousity. Al's inquisitive nature, while making her an adaptable horse, can be a drawback in everyday situations. She has already mastered the art of expanding her belly while her girth is being tightened, and her next project seems to be unlatching her stable door. The locks are meant to be only operable by humans, but some of the staff at Xenon Racing have a feeling that Al will disprove this claim.
Al might have her lazy days, but these are primarily on the training track at her home stable. She's competitive, perhaps a bit vain, and hence loves to run and succeed. She has a decent blend of speed and stamina, but what sets her apart from the other horses at the stable is her canniness. Under the guidance of her jockey, who specialises in riding precedes, Al uses her smarts to her advantage, trying to keep the front runners under pressure and thus wear them down. Al loves race days- the stimuli don't phase her like they do to some horses. She can get a bit excited, throwing her head in every which way to catch interesting sights and sounds, but she is fairly manageable. She's decent in the gate, albeit a little fidgety.
