Permafrost's beautiful white coat masks a cruel personality. It takes little to provoke a violent response from Frosty, and is more likely to start scuffles and fights than to make friends in the paddock. Under the saddle, Frosty is his typical unruly self. He enjoys running, particularly when he's at the head of the race, but he doesn't react too well to being held back his jockey. Particularly aggressive on the track, he needs a firm rider, both for his sake and the sake of others. He is too aggressive to be a preceder and prefers to spend his time at the front during a race. He's a fairly large, fast horse with plenty of stamina, so the tactic seems to work for him. The personality makes Frosty so difficult to control could well be a blessing on the track, as he will fight to win a race to the bitter end.
Frosty doesn't tolerate much nonsense from other horses, but he can be surprisingly calm when left alone on his own in the pasture. Oddly enough, he enjoys being groomed. He isn't too fond of humans, but tolerates individuals until they manage to anger him. He doesn't hold grudges for long, but he's notoriously easy to rile. Frosty gets along well enough with his jockey, as they are fairly similar in nature, and both prefer to race in the position of frontrunner. It has been suggested that Frosty should be gelded but, since he is unproven and hasn't yet shown real malice towards humans, the idea hasn't become reality.
