Raven's Nest is a relaxed, fairly mannerly horse, who thrives off familiarity and routine. He gets along well with other horses, and is very submissive in the pasture. While calmer than most young horses, he isn't bombproof, and startles from time to time. For reasons unknown, Raven has a great fear of rustling plastic bags. Raven likes racing well enough, but it can take a while for him to get used to new settings. Raven's not very adaptable when it comes to major changes, such as moving to different locations. Nonetheless, he works well with his rider and doesn't complain. His intelligence and speed are rather average, but he has more stamina than most.
On the track, Raven isn't extremely aggressive, but he has a more businesslike attitude than usual. He doesn't waste his energy intimidating other horses, preferring to slowly close in on them during the race. This approach tends to keep Raven out of the worst of the struggle and allows him to play to his main strength, stamina. Towards the end of the race, it doesn't take much pressure for the colt's jockey to urge him forward and beyond the other horses for the final furlong.
