And while we're at it, we might as well talk Y17 as well! Who are you retiring? What foals are you breeding? What sort of juveniles do you have?

Since I jumped the gun and immediately entered the BC, I figure I should at least post here . Entries were tough this year like everything else I've experienced in Year Sixteen. It's a juggling act with a large roster, but I made my life slightly easier by splitting Battle Brook into two separate divisions--BBS and Full Flight Farm. In spite of the split, I only have one Breeders Cup entry from FF this year. Gold Rush will join BBS's Cascabel in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile. I could not separate these two, almost three if Key West's late season rise had only occurred sooner. It would have been unfair to either colt as I'm not quite sure if Cascabel or Gold Rush will be pointed for the Triple Crown or both. Either way, this race would provide them a nice boost and it marks the first time that they will face one another this season.

The notable list of horses not going into the Breeders' Cup this year includes Kentucky Open and Preakness Champion winner Notorious, the Duchess Stakes winner Coveted Faith, multiple graded placed winner Swing Dancer and grade four filly Shatter. Enrapture was sold to KC Racing Stable and will be joining them in Year Seventeen. Notorious, Coveted Faith and Swing Dancer will be resting, gearing up for January Week Three and Four starts in the new year while Shatter will be starting immediately in January with an eye on making the Turf Tiara.

The biggest leap of faith BBS will be taking is with Uno Momento entering the Classic. The Preakness winner has never looked better, vaulting to victories in the fall and demonstrating that he is only going to get better as he gets older. While Saint and Vagabond would have been great representatives, Bond was always going to point toward the Breeders Cup Dirt Marathon and Saint is out to put a bow on the title of best dirt miler of Year Sixteen in the Dirt Mile. Saint has been the largest surprise of the year, following a Year Fifteen Preakness win and third in the Breeders Cup Marathon. He's run all over the map throughout his career, but his niche has been the two turn mile and that is where he will make the second to last start of his career.

OMG xD I can't believe Saint is on the edge of retiring. Where did the time go? It seems like only yesterday that Taboo was a crazy juvenile and Saint was winning the BC Juvenile...

Artemis's Glory will actually go in the filly and mare dirt sprint after taking a dirt race last out en route to her grade win title. She's been a dream after a run that included Cross My Heart, Paranormal Hunter and Taboo, but it may be time to switch things up. Her last out win in the Winter Cup gives her a new dimension and we will look to revitalize her career.

On the juvenile front, Cascabel and Gold Rush will be joined by the powerhouse Breaking Point, the ineffable Luna de Soltera, the speedy Pele's Wrath and the talented, but frustrating Kismet. While the three year olds of Y16 were polarized in performances, the latest juveniles offered by BBS/FF were not. I can't wait to get back to having a consistent wave of talented horses because that is when I seem to do best.

Apache Sunrise, Shatter, Game Over, Key West and Wire Tap will be skipping onward. Wire Tap has two more starts left to the season and his connections are hoping to crack grade four with him prior to the new year. The others are all relaxing while Ripley and Jacob (FF's Trainer) ponder a plan of attack for Y17.

I have quite the roster retiring to stud this year. Year Fourteen through Year Sixteen has really seen the rise of outstanding colts and stallions for BBS, something I have always sort of struggled with. To get over it, I delved into the older lines and developed my best roster yet. Saintly Touch, Spotlight Pride and Vagabond will all be headed for stud duty either after the Breeders Cup or the Dubai World Carnival, January Wk 2. They will be joined in May by Sun King who is returning December Wk 1 after a minor injury suffered in August. Casualty of War will remain on the roster until the end of Year Seventeen. He could run into his six year old season or he may retire depending on that year's performances.

The broodmare band at BBS grew gradually over Year Sixteen and I only have one mare that will be retiring to brood after the Breeders' Cup. Taboo will be heading into retirement after an attempt at joining the rest of Forbidden Wings's offspring with a BC win of her own. She will join Miss Josephine, Nocturnal Runaway and Lethal Dose on the roster. Of the four, only Lethal Dose will be bred in Year Seventeen. The bay mare will have a date with Saintly Touch. In Year Eighteen, Miss Josephine will be mated with Spotlight Pride, Nocturnal Runaway with Born To Impress, Taboo with Mourning Passion and Lethal Dose with Speak Easy. If you haven't noticed the common thread between the latter three stallions is that they have all have won the Kentucky Derby. Classic distances will be imperative for BBS lines going forward. After having dominated the sprinter and miler ranks, BBS is looking to even out their ranks.

My stallions generally promote themselves through record and progeny, but I'll give them a shoutout: Memorial's Blaze (Arlequinn and Lost In Memories), Positively Precious (Aphrodite's Chant, Artemis' Glory and Ares), Mr. Hat and Clogs (Quick Silver, Miss Magic and Shady Biscuit), Popcorn Blitz (Fusillade and Swing Dancer), Euphorion (son of Merry Bay King and Euphoria), Optimus Unstoppable (Tick Tock Sprint and Boys Party winner), Saintly Touch (winner of Y16 Met Mile, Y15 Preakness, Y14 Breeders' Cup Juvenile, etc.), and Spotlight Pride (Y15's Green Mile Champion and Y16's Twilight Stakes winner) will be on the BBS roster this season.

Updated: Frosty and I will be taking the only foals sired by Vagabond in Y17 and Sun King is pretty much closed due to so many reserves. Only members with planned Y17 foals will be allowed to breed to him.

I have thirteen foals currently planned right now for Year Seventeen. I may sell one. Although, I am not entirely sure how I could part with anything lol. If someone wants to breed to one open stallion and sell the foal, I'm game as long as the mare is rock-solid and the foal is sold in the Y17 New Year Sale to a person I approve of. I'd like buybacks and reclaim rights, but otherwise no reserves are necessary. 

I've finished four juvenile workouts so far and from what I've done, I adore them. The remaining ones are very intriguing with many holding lines that I've never incorporated into my breeding plans/racing roster. I'll probably do an article if I'm feeling ambitious during the new year.

What up!!! 2017 is literally right around the corner and I know we all have some awesome plans for our racehorses...except for me probably. xD

BREEDERS CUP ENTRIES?
Honestly, I'm not expecting much from my bunch...but it's always worth a shot you know? This year you're going to see Roussong in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Sprint as I strongly believe that he's a good, strong colt that can hold his own whenever he puts his head in the game. I've got another juvenile in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, that would be Rise Me Gold aka Miss Gold! She had a SUPER rough start with me (both her and Key West before he went to Ripley) and she has since gone from Maiden to G4. She has become quite the filly and is one that I believe should be watched out for on the track. I've also got KC Racing's favorite filly, Sylvanite in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf, she was knocked out of the game pretty badly in her run for the Triple Tiara and the Canadian Triple Tiara and she's hungry for some revenge. She'll be getting a good run in the Conferration Stakes during week 3 before taking on the Breeders' Cup. And lastly you have the underdog of KC Racing, Escape Artist in one of the Breeders' Cup sprint races. Muggathugga won't be in the Breeders' Cup this year, he will be entered in an undercard race for Week 3 before taking the remainder of December off in preparation for his four year old season.

PLANS FOR YEAR SEVENTEEN
Hmm. Well, I have a new filly in my string, the lovely (insert sarcasm) Enrapture. Didn't realize that she's the marest of mares (If you look up MARE in the dictionary, you'll find 'ENRAPTURE'). Might have to get a new jockey for this girl as she's a pain in the ass. (THANKS SO MUCH RIPLEY) Anyway, Muggathugga will be a four year old and I plan to get him on his way into HOTY races because he just doesn't seem like an undercard horse to me. Sylvanite will remain in HOTYs and hopefully be able to get some big name races for her wins. I strongly want to make a Grade One winner out of one my older horses next year, namely from Muggathugga, Sylvanite, Escape Artist or A True Hero. They will be going into 2017 as Grade Threes.

I also hope to have my two year olds-three year olds next year and currently Grade Fours end 2017 as Grade Threes. I have some pretty nice yearlings coming up as two year olds next year, Rise Me Gold's little half brother, Rising Wonder, the Forbidden to Fly daughter, Icarus Flight and a filly by Comeuppance, Oh The Irony. I know for sure that with Icarus Flight I plan to have her in next year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies.

Rising Wonder will be the first full fledged turf runner along with Oh The Irony for KC Racing so I'm excited to see how this will go for me. He's a beautiful colt and has the sweetest personality, but I will probably keep him to the undercards for 2017.

Depending on how Roussong starts off next year he may very well be KC Racing's contender for the Triple Crown next year with Rise Me Gold possibly taking a shot at one of the Tiaras depending on how strong she starts off next year.

BREEDING PLANS?
I have so many horses right now. I lightened my load by leasing out my 2015 horses, Sweet Talker, Louisiana Blues and Beyond Constellation. I may or may not breed my mares next year although if I do, I already have some plans laid out. I'm considering breeding Cute Italian to Born to Impress for a nice miler, Tricky Cat to Arlequinn for a sprinter, Oui Oui Merci to Innocent Skier, Forgetaboutit to Coco Cabana and Point Away to Catching Fire. I know for sure that Silverianna and Mardi Gras will be bred because neither of them have had foals yet, I'm considering Ramirez for Silverianna and Top Admirable for Mardi Gras.

Like I said, my plans for Y17 aren't as interesting as everyone else's xD

BC entries have officially been posted on BSD. Who are you thinking of sending, and where? Who is skipping and why?
NDM will not be going to Breeder's this year. We have had a very disappointing year in the HOTY class and do not have any horses nearly qualified enough to go. For a time we considered Eternally Smoldering, but he has not won a race since early September, and we are concerned that a low place would not do his record good. He has a HOTY race coming up December week three, we hope he can do well in that.

Who are you retiring?
We are saddened to say that Impress the Moonlight will mostly likely be quietly retiring. We are not making a formal announcement yet, things are still undecided, but seeing how poorly she has been doing we are not interested in running her into the ground. We briefly thought of trying her for a season on dirt, but given this year's performance we are not sure that that would be a good decision career wise. We might perhaps give her a few undercards early next year to try and let her retire on a win, her last race this season was the first week in November.

What foals are you breeding?
This is the first season that NDM is breeding our own original stock.

What sort of juveniles do you have?
For Y17 NDM has nine juveniles. We have several original creates we will be introducing as well as some lined foals. This will be the first year one of Dynasty's foals is old enough to race for us, Twilight Reign, she needed to be frozen for a year so we are very happy to have her starting now. We will be entering more solidly into the sprinting races this season with a more balanced crop.

Who is standing at stud that you'd like to promote?
Most of our horses have a few reserves out in the general public now. We do not have plans to formally offer studs to the public this season, partly because we do not have many that would be available, and in the past there has been little to no interest in them. NDM would consider private offers on Revelry, Ivory Storms and Lookin' Back Lucky only.

Planning to sell/lease out any horses?
Given all the leasing we had to ask of others for Y16 we have no plans for Y17 except Final Conquest. He will be going with Ender for the year, he reached G1 status and should give Ender a nice undercard entry into the higher levels of racing. Other than that, we are keeping our racing at home this year, and have no plans of leasing from others at the moment. However due to the lack of progress on our juveniles this year, we will have five G5 three year olds and the nine maidens who will hopefully reach G5 in the first half of the year. That being said, we may have more than we can properly race if worst case scenario we end up with 14 G5 horses. In that event we would need to either break horses for several months or lease to try and cope.

For the most part Y16 was fairly disappointing for NDM, we had a few successes to keep our spirits up, but we are hoping for a better Y17 as an overall whole within our stable. We really hope our current juveniles can step up as three year olds, and we are looking forward to getting our feet wet on the sprinter tracks.

Grayson Meadows will be well represented this year in the Breeders’ Cup. Starting with Juveniles we plan to send Proletariat to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, we’re a little worried about sending him as his last race he totally flopped for no real reason that we can find. There isn’t any denying that with ten wins to his name in only 19 starts that he does in fact belong at the BC so that’s exactly where he will be going. Next, we also plan to send Incineration to BC Juvenile Fillies Turf. She opened her 2 year old season being an absolute terror, while she isn’t quite a fierce as she appeared to be earlier this season we feel she belongs in the BC. We will also be sending Blue Heroine, a winner of five HOTY races, this filly dominates the sprints over either surface. Much like proletariat her last start scared us quite a bit but we’re confident that she’s better than that finish and hope that others will recognize that too. You’ll find her in the BC Juvenile Sprint. The rest of our Juveniles are basically done racing until January, we decided to sideline most of them after their placings weren’t improving and figured rest was a better decision then pushing them too hard. The only representative headed to the Breeders’ Cup from our 3 year old crop is Rough Diamond, our wonder filly who nearly stole the Sprinter Triple Tiara this year will be headed to the Breeders’ Cup filly and mare sprint. We’ve been relatively disappointed year after year with our Y13 crop and that is no secret, but we’re letting them rest as well and coming back Y17 hoping for the best. If the situation doesn’t improve retirement is always a comforting option as many of them are very well bred. Our older horses have definitely impressed us this year and it shows in our entries. To start off our list of entries is Daddy’s Overdraft. It isn’t a well kept secret that this was where we were pointing her to all season and she hasn’t done anything but confirm that she is ready for the BC this year. Daddy’s Overdraft has won over nearly every distance in her range however there is no denying the mares affinity for that mile distance and that’s where you will find her. Look for this flashy white mare to make her final run down the stretch in the BC mile. Next is Call Me Crooked. This beloved mare has caused Grayson Meadows quite a bit of grief this season and it’s no well kept secret either. We’re sure many are pleased to watch her fall from her throne that she’d sat upon since her two year old season, we however aren’t. Again there isn’t any denying that she belongs in the BC so she’s going, what result we’re going to get we don’t know, but as a the first and only winner of a Sprinter Triple Crown Crook deserves her own BC race to add to her resume, with that in mind we will announce that she’ll be running next season as well. Next we’ll announce that Take Flight will be headed to the BC Turf Marathon. Many will be surprised he isn’t headed to the BC turf but as everyone knows the son of Merry Bay King is well known for his love of long distance races. We’re confident he’ll put in his best performance there. Under consideration still for the BC is Dry Your Tears and Chatoyant, both entries will be dependent on what the races look like, but we feel they’re both good enough to represent Grayson Meadows in the BC.

Many of our retirement plans are going to be made after the BC but the horses under consideration are Daddy’s Overdraft, Take Flight, Honorary (all dependent on next start), SmashDashing, All That Jazz, and Chatoyant.

We are excited about next season's juveniles simply because we bred all but one of them. We have a plethora of sprinters which makes CC very happy, but also CC is shooting herself in the foot as the amount of clashes they will have with each other is a smigin crazy.

Depending on how bad the clashes get we may end up having to lease out some of our juveniles next season.

All of meh studs are lovely and they all deserve some love so don’t be shy you can ask if you can set up a date with one of them

Considering it’s Ar Y Ffin Stables’ first year, I’d say we’ve done very well. That being said, only one of our horses are running in the Breeders Cup this year. Seattle Lightning will be running in the Juvenile Turf Sprint. We’re not quite sure what his schedule will be yet for next year except that he will be pointed towards the Turf Sprinter Crown.

Fabled Dreams will be running one more time in a race yet to be determined before resting for her return in January. She will not be running in the Breeders Cup though, since we don’t think she’s quite ready for that challenge. Maybe at the end of next year, but we’ll see. What direction we’ll take next year with her has yet to be determined. Knight’s Ransom will not be running either because we feel that he’s not quite there yet. He’ll either be pointed towards the Canadian Triple Crown or the Turf Distance Series. Dancer’s Shadow is leased out to Sunset Acres until the end of Y18, so I’m not sure what their plan is.


As for who’s retiring, the only horse on our list is Fly By Darkness. She’ll be retired at the end of March, since we would like to race her a bit into the new year while getting Beyond The Lies ready to take her place as our senior runner.


Our Y17 Juveniles, we think will be just as good as our previous year’s. Our favorite is Flashbang, who’s our dirt router. Then we have Tempest Rising who’s… a challenge, shall we say, in terms of her personality. She’s our second dirt router. And our other juveniles are Finding North, our dirt sprinter, and After All, our turf router. No turf sprinters this year. We’re keeping our Y17 Juvenile crop small compared to our Y16 field.


Our stallions can be found on the farm’s site. Fees will be set once we figure them out, probably around December Week 3 or 4. We’re not selling any horses this upcoming year, since our stable’s relatively small. We might lease out a horse or two, but that depends on how the year starts off, and if we need to let a couple of our horses go to others for a year or two.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading every one of these posts XD And now I'm going to blab quite a bit, though I'll try not to.

I am sending more horses than I expected to the BC this year, and I have a confusing array of double entries that I did not plan for. I won't mention all of them, because you'll know soon enough, but here's a few surprises:

Silent Snap - Breeders Cup Sprint (his win streak is convincing me that it wouldn't be right to avoid running him as planned. I think he'll be a nice surprise on BC day, with the way his October/November have been going)

Devil's Flair - Breeders Cup Marathon (yup, not the Classic; his Senior Superstars Finale win convinced me to try him at twelve furlongs for the BC. Can't wait to see how he does!)

Incognito - Breeders Cup Classic (unsurprising to see the Derby winner here, but the alternative was the Marathon; I think he'll run his best at the Derby distance regardless before potentially trying out miler races next season)

Altercation - Breeders Cup Turf Marathon (yup, he hasn't won since his Breeders Stakes surprise, but he's a solid colt and I think he'll be in the mix)

Coincidence - Breeders Cup Dirt Mile (yup, not the Sprint; his win in the Caracortado solidified this. I think he'll find the distance just fine! Can't wait to see if he'll bring this race home. I think he might cross well with Lynara's Kingdom down the line if he does...whoops, unrelated.)

Ares - Breeders Cup Sprint (he wasn't initially slated for a BC race, but his performance has convinced me. He hit G1 last out and next season is looking very bright for him.)

Prometheus - Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf (he likes dirt just as well, but I've decided on the turf race due to his recent performances before the race itself. We'll go dirt for the BC next year if he does what I'm hoping he will do. Both his parents were BC winners, though turf was not their surface; Prometheus appears to be fashioning his own legacy in that regard)

Hysteria and/or Wild Tide - Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies (They've performed consistently, but I think they'll be long shots heading in; going to see how the field shapes up before finalizing these decisions.)

In terms of who's missing: Radiant Silver, Great Revenge, Melusine, Animatia are among the ones that spring to my mind first. Animatia is just not quite up to it yet for the Distaff, and Radiant Silver will be having a blast in the Classic next season if he runs according to plan. Melusine is concluding her season this week, and Great Revenge is still trying to come back.

For next season, you will see some horses in new spots. Coincidence will be given a two furlong extension after the BC and will try out races up to eleven furlongs. He's a talented, flexible colt who has actually been running against his distance-oriented pedigree this whole time, so I really look forward to seeing how this works out. Devil's Flair will become a straight marathoner, though it's likely he will campaign over both dirt and turf. Fleet Street and Radiant Silver will be heading my classic dirt division, though they'll likely be split up by site to avoid any unhappy clashes. My dirt miler division will be headed by Incognito and Silent Snap. Coincidence will float among all of these and we'll just see where we can place him. Cyclonaria will remain as a turf miler next season, though I did play with the idea of giving her an extension and trying her as a sprinter at 6 and 7F after her Butter Cup Sprint victory. Ares will remain as a dirt sprinter, and Melodious will be his female counterpart. Great Revenge will be a classic turf horse alongside Altercation, though Al will be going longer.

In terms of our classic contenders: Amaris for the Turf Triple Sprinter Tiara, Celebrity for the Turf Triple Tiara and Green Mile, Dauntless for the Triple Sprinter Tiara, Hysteria for the Triple Tiara and Red Mile, Mr Wild for the Turf Triple Crown or Turf Distance Series, Prometheus for the Canadian Triple Crown and for both distance series, Wild Tide for the Canadian Triple Tiara, Black Thriller for the Triple Crown and Dirt Distance Series, and Ruling Restraint for the Turf Triple Sprinter Crown if he improves real fast.

I am overly excited for my new juveniles. Aristaeus will be the first son of Eternal Phantom that I race, and he's by Sunset Crusade. Belladonna is bringing Jessie James back to the track, and she's out of the much-loved Fleet Majesty. Everlasting Gift is by Pegasus Wings and out of Innocent Passion, and what a combination that is. Hyperion is by Merry Bay King and out of Rosalind - yup, two legendary producers, one foal. Can't wait. Kallisto is by Forbidden To Fly and out of Mystical Melody. I raced Mel once upon a time, and this cross came to mind when I did. Odin is by Instant Success and out of Atalanta, and that's one original spin. He's a Canadian Triple Crown hopeful. Phaedra is by Royal Cadenza and out of Sugar Jayde, and I love the back pedigree on this one. Sweet Dreams is by Sweet Sugar Cane and out of Smarty's Dream and should prove interesting. Sweet Sugar Cane is one of my foundation sprinter sires, and Smarty's Dream is unproven but carries very unique lines. Terminus is by Stryker (a Speed of Light and Struck By War son) and out of White Chocolate. He's a more experimental type, but he's devastating in a way perfect for Valencia Andrews. Finally, Tisiphone is by Mastermind and out of Lynara's Kingdom. She runs five to ten furlongs on both surface, so get ready to see her everywhere. They're all TOO PRETTY.

In terms of studs, Call Of The Wild is coming back and joining the stud roster. I have all information here on available studs and fees: click.

Pandora will be retired to the breeding barn following her run in the Dubai World Championship (tentatively). She will not be bred until Year Eighteen, and her first match will be with Ode To Glory.

Y17 crop is very exciting. I am particularly excited for Linnette, a daughter of Barely A Moment and Fire Dancer. She'll be one heck of a distance runner and one of those filly types who may be good enough for the Triple Crown. Catastrophe is another interesting one in the crop. She's by Mastermind and out of Ventura. Check out the pedigree. Her twin Turbulence will race for Battle Brook. Every foal in this crop is fearsome, so I'm going to stop now before I keep typing about them XD

My turn!!! 

I feel Montgomery Acres is still trying to get things to fall into place. I am looking forward to Y17. Im excited to bring on the new babies and the new juveniles who will make their first appearances on the track in January.

MA will have one BC runner this year. Radiation Therapy will be having his final start in the Breeder's Cup Marathon. I felt this race better suited him than the Classic. He ran November Week 4 and will be resting till the big day.

Going into Y17, we will have the addition of two studs Radiation Therapy and Palisades Pirate will be joining our stud barn. They both have stud fees set at $40,000 which will go up depending on popularity. We arehoping Pirate hits that special Grade One spot by the time the end of the year hits. He is just one win away.

I have one horse leased out for Y17. Shuttershock is running for Sunset Acres till he retires to stud Y18. I plan on selling a few of my Y17 babies and not planning on leasing out any other horses as our racing stock will be small aswe head into our first full year of competition.

Now, as for my Y17 babies, guys I am quite excited. MA has 15 Y17 weanlings this time around. To name a few...


Italian Fury [True Italian X Stalker's Fury] This has to be my favorite filly out of the crop. Can't wait to see what this filly will do in the future.

Petronius [True Italian X Paramore] This is my favorite colt. He is going to be a killer racehorse. 

I have many other babies who I'm overly excited about. I am looking forward to Y17. Hoping my horses do well in competition. I will have some tough competitors to go against the horses of the other farms.

Inthink for the BC I'll stick with the yearling show as I have been gone my horses won't be ready for that competition at all. But there's always next year.

My Y17 Foals I'm looking forward to is Theia she will be my dirt sprint triple Tiara hopeful. She is by Sun King out of Reflected in Water she is my favorite during this crop and I'm excited for when she hits the race tracks.

The juveniles that I know will be kicking off to a good season is In My Remains, a colt by Impressario I've been dreaming his racing years and now it is here in Y17. I also am looking forward to Sillencio while his prospect season didn't fit to well I think he will come back around.

I am thinking of retiring Cry Out Chaos and Dashing in the firelight from the brood barn they have hit their foal limits and would like to make room for future broodmares as for stallions none are retiring from the stud barn as Nature Springs wants to explore our studs more this year.

Tears No More is looking to retire to the stud barn in Y17 as he hit G1 status it will give many stables out there to have a chance at Cryin' Out loud bloodlines.

Nothing really too exciting this year with nature springs but things could change through out the season.

I'm a bit late to the party as you can see... but here is my blurb about my lovely ponies.

BREEDER'S CUP ENTRIES
BREEDER'S CUP JUVENILE FILLIES TURF*, we are hesitantly sending out Enchanting Soldier. She was not a for sure on my list this year just seeing how much she struggled with a certain few HoTY races especially her last race in Wk 2. Tia is by far not a bad horse, she just couldn't find a break this year. I think this will give her good experience going into her three year old season and as she matures she will get better.  

BREEDER'S CUP FILLY AND MARE SPRINT*, Siren Call will be going to dominate in her last race of her career. We were juggling between sending her to the Sprint with the boys seeing as she's been competing with them all season, but with her and Innerstellar clashing we found it best to place her here. With that being said, it will be a sad day when she gets off the track and retires, but her record proves her greatness and we hope Siren can carry it over to the breeding shed. Foals are already in the works >:)

BREEDER'S CUP FILLY AND MARE TURF SPRINT*, again another horse who's name speaks louder than words is Silver Serendipity. Keeping her in work for an extra season (thanks for advising me last year Ripley xD) really paid off. However her last start was a bit of a disappointment in other words, but we know keeping her in the F&M sprint class will give her the confidence boost (even tho those mares are KILLLERRR right now...) to end her last season on a good note:) She already has plans for foals hehe.

We decided it was best to keep Winning Fire out of the BREEDER'S CUP JUVENILE FILLIES*. Nothing like her older sibling Hellfire at her age, but still tries her hardest. She hasn't had much HoTY experience as the rest of the field so we hope keeping her out and prepping her for next year's BC will get her on the right track!

Scintilla is being sent to the BREEDER'S CUP FILLY AND MARE TURF* as she preps for her 4 year old season. She has been a very tough competitor in all HoTY's this season (however sometimes I want to strangle her for the amount of 3rd places on her record and she can never clinch her G1 win....2 races away gaaah). I'm fairly confident in her, but I don't expect an upset like last year's BC juvenile fillies win xD

The BREEDER'S CUP DISTAFF* goes to small but mighty Fire Goddess. She did very well on the BSD track this season, and in addition very well in the Canadian TT (minus the last race..poor pony can't run turf). She's got a good record and tough company, but she's been improving every day this season!

BREEDER'S CUP JUVENILE TURF SPRINT* goes to Storm Warning, who certainly surprised me this season. Tbh i thought he was going to be a flop considering he has no good parents but he did good xD I'm not going to be surprised if he places poorly but it'll be good for him for the experience and exposure for next season.

Mistweaver is another horse who surprised me this season and is going into the BREEDER'S CUP JUVENILE SPRINT* very tentatively. She's got fire in her but we might pull her last minute since she doesn't really have as much exposure to HoTY than the others currently entered.

Barely Smokin is hitting the BREEDER'S CUP MARATHON* (yes you heard me...the marathon). His win in the Belmont and just overall performance this season is what led me to stick him here (and because seniority rules he doesn't get the Classic till next year xD). It'll definitely be a challenge for him but I think he's up to it.

BREEDER'S CUP TURF MARATHON* goes to Call Of The Wild, who is trying out his marathoning skills before he heads back to SOPS to retire (I love him Frosty and I want to steal him xD). He's really come out of his shell and has performed exceptionally this season and I'm very glad I got the chance to work with him.

Patriot is skipping out on the BREEDER'S CUP JUVENILE TURF* just because he's had an insanely rough season against HoTY competition (and also my bad for not entering him in a lot this season either). As he gets older her HoTY exposure will grow massively so hopefully he's ready by next season.

The BREEDER'S CUP DIRT MILE* goes to (almost) Red Mile dirt champion Hellfire, who reaaaally proved her liking of the mile distance this season (and I was dumb and forgot to enter her in the last RM race D:). BUT however she is my baby and acts like a stallion, hopefully her run against top contenders will be a competitive one. 

Arctic Fox is heading to the BREEDER'S CUP JUVENILE* to fulfill my hopes and dreams of him being great xD While his run in the youth challenge was rocky, he seems to be coming to his own this season so hopefully he decides to play nice in the BC.

The very handsomely aggressive Innerstellar gets the BREEDER'S CUP SPRINT* this season, hoping to repeat his Juvenile Sprint win. However against the older Sun King and Silent Snap maybe not xD He is out for revenge and blood especially after the Caracortado stakes so watch outttt. 

My Green Mile champion Dancing On Nails is getting the BREEDER'S CUP MILE* entry. I LOVE THIS HORSE. He's really proved to love the mile distance after a failed attempt on my part in the TTSC. Hopefully he can keep up with his winning streak!

My boyish girl Like A Lady is entered in the BREEDER'S CUP TURF* after running a season basically against the boys. Did fairly well at BSD in some of the turf distance series but will be looking to place against da boys. 

Aaaaaand finally the BREEDER'S CUP CLASSIC* goes to my wonderfully wonderful handsome boy Speak Easy, who I regret to say is retiring at the end of this season (I know some people are happy so they can run their ponies finally xD). My very first horse is looking to finally clinch a win in the BC and his record this season has been stellar so I hope he does well.

Most of my 3yo/older string that haven't been mentioned will miss the BC as per usual since I have a horse basically running in every race LOL.

OTHER INFORMATION
Well, a list of my Y17 planned foals can be found here. Retiring horses are Devil's Blessing, Lost In Memories, Ghost Rider, Coco Cabana, White Rose, Call Of The Wild [going back to SOPS], Silver Serendipity, Siren Call, and Speak Easy. 

Flashing The Declaration is being leased out to Holly, and when he is done his season there is going back to Sammy for his stud career.

Cruiseykins, you really turned Call of the Wild into quite the champion horse and I am so excited to breed him down the line. You know you're welcome to breed to him whenever you would like! I am really amused to see him in the Turf Marathon, as I pegged him as a miler when he was with me, but if he does well there...the possibilities are endless. I'm considering whether breeding him to Pandora down the line is inbreeding or linebreeding, and I just really really really love what you've done with him. (You could try crossing him with Princetta in Y18? XD)

Speaking of, I am so happy I sold Siren Call to you, and at the same time I'm kicking myself for it. Trinity will give you as much of a fight as she can. And I would only worry about Silent Snap if he decides to show up and run in the Sprint. Horse is so inconsistent. I hope he pulls what Call just did for you and becomes ridiculously good next year.

I'm looking forward to Impressive Call down the line, and I think Kiss N Tell is an absolutely fantastic cross considering how well Santana Secret's daughter Santana's Moment has been producing and how lovely Supernatural was. I really love that Impressive Call has both Shiver Me Timbers and Merry Bay King as grandsires...my two first horses, ever. I need to copy this XD

I kind of want to rant in reply to everybody's posts. Lol. So much to say!

Has anybody tried scheduling for Y17 yet? If so, how are you finding the new GHF schedule?

I've scheduled through January for most of my horses. I'm having an easy enough time actually . Only horse I had trouble scheduling for was Luna de Soltera, mostly because she's 10F+ and the only races she can contest are races my undercard/older horses can contest also. Found a spot though. There isn't a lot of opportunity early on for marathon lovers, but really I think this is an aberration since Luna is really the first horse I've ever had (or seen maybe?) that loved marathon distances so early in her career. I really think Marathon horses will see a rise of sorts now that the marathon horses have their own races and can shine outside of the classic distances.

I think my experiment with Sun King in Y16 may give way to more experiments for my stock in Y17. I schedule a month of rest and relaxation throughout the year already, but I'm pondering longer rests during quiet times for specific sets of horses. Who knows... maybe the stigma off of layoffs is wearing off. Certainly Cavallo is experiencing a comeback boom of sorts! I hate her horses as much as I love them because they keep beating me lol!

Sammy: Sad to hear that Reflected In Water's career has come to a close, but I'm pretty sure your Sun King x Reflected In Water Y17 foal will more than heal your pain lol! Glad to see you're giving Rules Of Passion a chance to run for a grade one title. She's easily my favorite horse on your roster right now! You have quite the roster for Y17 too with so many older horses staying on.

I scheduled my horses through the end of March, and my juvies just January. I like then new schedule so far, it's nice you put some gaps in it so it's easier to read as well. What length of time are we going to break from Y16 to Y17? I wouldn't need a long one, and we are behind schedule now, can we catch that up at all? Are we going to try and go back to twice a week racing or are people too busy?

Ripleykins, it's funny that you mention marathoners, as Prometheus has ended up really liking the twelve furlong distance as well XD His Just A Trot victory was his only one at a shorter distance. (Can we breed them down the line? XD)

My horses actually get around 2 months off every season, and it hasn't seemed to hurt them too much. I usually only break them for a straight month, or one and a half months maximum, but I am curious to see your experiments with longer breaks. I usually only do a month so said horses don't miss out on too much though, especially at certain points in the year.

Isakins, I'm not sure how long of a break, as we are still behind. Maybe a week or two? We'd have all January entries open and award noms up at the beginning of the break. I'm thinking award noms open when the BC starts running, give one week for noms to be submitted, and then one week for voting so that we can get awards squared away by the time we start running January. Additionally, by having January entries already up, we can go through them a bit more quickly.

Twice a week probably a bit quick, but we could certainly try for it, especially during lighter weeks of racing when we come across them. We've been judging fairly quickly, so I think what would help the most is having entries up early so entries can be submitted early and then maybe we can get through the weeks more quickly.

I have had a blast scheduling so far I'm even looking forward to starting juvenile workouts. This crop should be fairly fast.

I'm game for award noms to be put up soon and January entries as well... Mostly because I'm being selfish and I won't be here from January 27th-February 5th because of my cruise and then I start my new job the next day. We're going to need people to step up and admin the New Year Sale when Y17 starts as well.

We're still waiting on wk 3 to close and the BC... how long do we think it will take to get to the BC?

I would say that, if we start running wk3 by this weekend, we will finish with that week by Wednesday. And maybe then we can start running the BC next weekend?
