Bank On Silver was created in December of 2005 as a two year old filly. From the start Sarah Star, her owner, trainer and rider, knew she had potential, and was determined to make the filly shine. The pair went on to win their first race, then their second race and finally her third race. Her winning streak stopped there, and she came fifth in her fourth race.

Her third and fourth years were nothing short of spectacular though, and she eventually earned a record of 69-28-11-9, running and winning in races such as the Goldenrod Cup, Winter Tundra Cup, Filly Cup, Championship Stakes, Golden Opportunity Cup, Autumn Sweepstakes and the Zodiac Stakes. She came second in such races as the Breeder's Cup Classic, the GHF Derby, the Heartland Breeder's Cup and the Cox Plate; and third in races such as the Breeder's Cup Classic, Triple Crown (it was one race back then), Spring Cup, Islandic Cup (Flat Racing Event), and the prestigious Melbourne Cup.

Her outstanding performance throughout her fourth year scored her two Horse Of The Year Awards, including Best Older Mare and Racehorse of The Year.
